Description
With a PADI Open Water diving license (divers say “certification” for the diving license) you can go diving worldwide without any problems.
Maximum depth after the PADI Open Water diving course: 18 meters
Scuba diving is a sport, which is almost suitable for everyone. However, to be able to learn to dive, you have to be able to swim and show a medical certificate of fitness for diving.
The PADI Open Water diving course is divided into three parts:
Theoretical training
Swimming pool training
Open water dives
1. Theory training
The first part of the training takes place in our training room, where the dive theory and the important fundamentals for diving are learned.
There is a video to watch and the 5 chapters of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual are to be discussed, which can possibly be prepared online beforehand. After each chapter (also called a module) there are ten repetition questions to make sure that the content has been understood.
At the end of the theoretical units, there is a final test (as with the repeat questions in the multiple-choice procedure) with 50 questions.
2. Swimming pool training
The dives in the pool are used to prepare for the open water. Here diving with fins is practiced, the handling of the diving equipment is trained and various techniques and diving skills that must be mastered as a diver are learned.
3. Open water education
The open water training consists of four boat dives in two days. Here, the skills and abilities learned are applied under the right diving conditions and then practiced and improved again.
The open water dives take place on two days with our dive boat to the nearby dive sites.
The sequence of the PADI Open Water Diver course
First day:
Pick up at your hotel in Hurghada in the morning at around 8:00 a.m. After completing the formalities, the scuba diving course begins with an approx. 2-hour instructional film in which you receive all information about diving theory, diving equipment, diving skills, and techniques of the PADI Open Water Diver Course.
After completing the theory, we go into the pool. There we will practice underwater exercises and on the water surface until everything is almost perfect and your diving guide can say that we can go diving in the Red Sea on days 2 and 3 without any problems.
Second day:
Pick up at your hotel in Hurghada in the morning between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
We go to the port by bus. From there, our dive boat takes us out to the Red Sea. After the first dive, there is of course delicious lunch on board. We go to distant diving areas in the Red Sea.
Once there, we make your first open-water dive for about 35 minutes. to a depth of approx. 12 m in the Red Sea and repeat the diving skills that you have already learned in the swimming pool.
After a lunch break on the sundeck (lunch is also available on the boat), you then go on the second dive to about 12 meters and repeat other exercises that you have already learned in the swimming pool.
Third day:
The same daily routine as on day 2, only that the diving depth is now between 16 and 18 meters.
After completing the 4th dive in the Red Sea, you will receive the lifelong PADI Open Water diving license, which entitles you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters worldwide.
